My brother has by wellbeing at heart. I know that. Lest I become bored in my favourite city, he set me a photographic challenge. Capture nine random subjects on camera. Simples. Challenge accepted.
Still / Moving.
A single image captures a moment in time. Powerful, yet arbitrary. In reality there is movement, subtle and sublime. The holocaust sites of Poland & Lithuania, captured in time-lapse are, indeed, still moving.
Warsaw: Silvertone.
Warsaw sparkles. A sense of calm comes over me as I walk its streets. Facades crumble, and the wind sweeps around corners. This is a city of pure, undiluted history. This is Warsaw: Silvertone.

The objects displayed in pristine glass cabinets at the holocaust memorials of Poland are accompanied by terse descriptions. But what stories do they really tell? What is left after their owners have left this earth? Artefact.
The Unspeakable World.
From the dawn shadows flickering on a wall, to the frantic determination of being in practice. Cold mornings in the misty woods collide with cosy fatigue as computer screens flicker. Another day. Another life.

Stung by the Baltic winds, few places articulate their place in history as much as the shipyards of Gdansk. Immaculate dilapidation, faded splendour and a rugged, irresistible charm. Captured on a phone clasped between frozen fingers.

Returning to Warsaw after some 18 years, I was filled with an anticipation forged from faded memories. Its people, its places and its ways of being. I love Warsaw... Kocham Warszawę.
